John Burke's Hastings, August 1999
Ramsgate
Thursday 5 August 1999

We decide to do a few quick stops on the way back from Margate, so first stop is at Ramsgate.

This is the Maritime Museum.

Above right: a small collection of nautical momentoes is displayed outside to tempt in the enthusiast or the tourist with time to spare.

Boy are they pedantic about their exact position! We are told that it takes the world 5 minutes and 41 seconds to move Greenwich to the longitude previously occupied by Ramsgate!

The gang disembark and wonder how HL7 managed to get into the hole with walls on every side...
The boat, right, was the one we all wanted to have a go on though!

We went a little continental for our evening meal. Well, actually, we went to the Continental Cafe...

Fed and watered? Back to the car!
