Creeping Bentgrass   History

Creeping Bentgrass is the group I play in. It started at a Christmas come birthday party at work (left) Christmas 2000.

We started out very folk-based with accoustic instruments and Helen playing a violin..

With that line up we played Kendal Windows On Arts street festival in September 2001, but the electric instruments and rock and roll had started to creep into the act!
Left: playing in the Stumble Inn for the students at Myerscough College - the last gig with Helen who was finding it hard finding time to rehearse.

Right: open air gig for the Jubilee in 2002. Keyboards came into the act.

The current line-up of John Burke, Bob Snape and David Lancaster on vocals at a very wet Myerscough Open Day June 2002.

We played for 6 hours in freezing cold rain with towels over the keyboard!

A garden party for a 60th birthday.

Achy Breaky Heart gets the line dancers going!

Kendal Windows on Art 2002 was wet so we played indoors and had two good sessions ending with one and a half hours in the Brewery Arts Centre. The audience were great - if you were there then thanks for inspiring us!
Left: on stage at Walmesley for a Ruby Wedding party.

Right: book us to listen, dance or hand jive! Call David Lancaster, 195 Palatine Road, Blackpool, FY1 4DX tel: 01253 301324 or email me.
