I bought six pinballs with my Dad in 1990 and the links
here tell the story of how we found them, restored them, played them and then busted them to
start all over again!
Everyone said when we were looking that they were hard to maintain. By this they
meant they take contant attention. Ten years on with some still to restore, I had to
agree! 15 years on and I'd sold most of them: I have one and my nephew has one - his even works...
The photograph shows my dad and uncle playing on Tri-Zone, an early electronic
pinball from 1979. |

F I N D I N G
I've played pinball since the early 60s and always wanted one of my own.
Then in 1990 I achieved this ambition by buying not one but six pinballs
from the 70s and early 80s.

restored my first pinballs.

In August 1995 we moved some of the pinballs into a garage at Mum and
Dad's caravan park.
Then in 1999 Gorgar escaped to a new owner! How we got it in this car I'll never know... |

| I quite often get asked by pinball owners where to find parts, manuals, a shoulder to cry on...
The Pinball Owners' Association (POA) in UK is a good source of these things and are little inclined to laugh whatever the level of your knowledge - give them a try.
Their website also has a good links page to other collectors, repair and retailers as well as to drivel like my page... Please mention my name if contacting them. |

GOING... GOING... GOING... GONE!
Well if I'm totally honest, they hadn't done much apart from gather dust for a few years so I've sold off most of the pinballs now. Tri-Zone remains in my possession and I now need to find some time to work on it (ha ha ha...)
Well as improbable as it seems at the moment, it was one of the best of our games so it would be nice to keep and play every now and then! |
